Falls Church City Candidate Forum to be held September 23rd

As you might know, the City Council seat vacated by the passing of Dan Sze will be filled via a Special Election on Election Day (Tuesday, November 3rd).

The Village Preservation and Improvement Society and the League of Women Voters – Falls Church are hosting a Candidate Forum to afford you an opportunity to get to know more about the three candidates vying for that seat (Debbie Hiscott, Josh Shokoor, and Simone Pass Tucker) and their positions on issues facing Falls Church.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the forum will be held virtually this year, via a Zoom webinar (https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81669789636), on September 23, beginning at 7:30 p.m.  Notices will be placed in the Falls Church News Press this Thursday (September 17), as well as posted to NextDoor.com, and the various social media sites for the two organizations.  The VPIS website (www.vpis.org) has already been updated to include the link to the webinar and it, along with the candidates’ answers to questions posed by the Board of Directors will be sent to VPIS members via a VPIS Sentinel email prior to the event.

In the past, we collected questions from the audience.  As this cannot be an in-person event this year, we are soliciting questions now to be asked of the candidates by the moderators the night of the forum.  Please submit your questions to CandidateForumFCh@gmail.com by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22.
